2018 Aston Martin DB11 Price and Reviews

The fewer four cylinders do not hurt the character, speed, or driving pleasure of this “base” base of the DB11.

When Hunter S. Thompson wrote, “buy the tickets, ride the car” he is not talking about sports cars. But somehow, the phrase echoed behind my head as I kicked this Aston Martin throttle, and caused a burst of sound energy to penetrate the dry air of the Sonoran Desert around it.

There is something about driving hard into the desert. And though I’m not Gonzo, Aston V8’s voice and power do serve as a kind of liquor in the blood, the harder I push and the higher the howl.

2018 Aston Martin DB11 Powertrain

V8 “is not a footnote or throwing line here, for some reason why Aston took me to southern California altogether. It’s been a year since we brought you the first DB11 Drive with the traditional V12 under the hood. Now the British company is ready to launch the iteration V8 which is a bit cheaper than a GT car – a car that, to be honest, is not going to be sold in much of the US but should do well in markets like Asia and Europe. And the truth is, down on strength or not, maybe just pick from the line.

The engine in question is a 4.0 liter biturbocharged V8 that you will recognize from the section of the bin Mercedes-AMG is very cool. Developing 503 horsepower and 498 pound-feet of torque, the V8 released 93 hp and 18 lb-ft in addition to 4 cylinders, but dropped just 0.1 seconds to 62 miles per hour, compared to the V12 DB11. And although I personally find the top speed to be the most irrelevant statistical measure in driving, I will report that the DB11 V8 can only accumulate 187 miles per hour, for two tonnes registered by V12.

Call this Mercedes motorcycle if you have to; I would call it a sonic power for pleasure when downloads are stacked. Aston has completely repeated the intake and exhaust to make the German engine sound more English. For those of us who do not collect the classic supercar, “English” here means a much smoother exhaust note, which is quieter at its peak volume than, say, Mercedes-AMG GT. And to call it “quiet” as a whole will be a lie. In fact, the Aston engineers have done an incredible job that allows the V8 to be heard – grows but not hard – even at low speeds, so people are not tempted to drift into butts, and forget what lies behind them. wheels.

Forget the sound he made and the stopwatch readings, DB11 V8 was very fast. Even the most relaxed of the three driving modes (GT, Sport, and Sport +) sharp throttle response, and the piling speeds are linear and thrilling. This is where the landing part of my driver’s route really shows the Aston well, with stretching long and straight curves just begging for high-speed playing games.

ZF’s eight-speed automatic transmission is really an engine partner, and not a doorman for pleasure. Sport mode shift and Sport + automatically happens when and where I want it, though I am happy, as I climb and down the mountain road, to grab my own gears, via two large paddle shifters and handy behind the wheel. Such quick reaction times, combined with fast takeoff speeds in traffic and around town, meant I was never left wanting a double clutch.

Now, let’s talk about the mountain road. Trip planners are seriously entering routes up and down Mount Palomar in San Diego County, on lucky streets I find to be essentially empty, save other DB11 drivers (and one very enthusiastic Nissan GT-R).

2018 Aston Martin DB11 Styling

The form of DB11 is an instant classic, much more interesting than other supercars currently still looks like an absolute spacecraft when viewed next to a car on a regular road. Aston is long, curved and dear, its shape painstakingly encapsulates complex aerodynamic tools without the use of anything common to the wings. There is a small deployable spoiler that creates a downforce of air that is channeled through the vents that start behind the door, but quite smooth, even now. And when I saw the classic wide grille in the low and beautiful nose, it was like looking into the future of the Pebble Beach yard. DB11 is also much less screaming a design than Vanquish nowadays, it should be said.

In the Aston test I wrote, this will be part of the story where I love the interior, while lamenting its functionality and technology, relative to its price. The annoying part of the equation has largely been cut in this new DB. Aston’s technical partnership with Daimler has also captured its own version of the COMAND infotainment system, which means the car gets navigation, stereo control, and modern connectivity, following Weir’s unblemished wood coatings.

The cabin is really luxurious to look at and invite to sit around. And I am happy to report – for myself and for the NBA guards now – this front seat is sitting six feet and five inches well. The seats go down very low because I do not suffer for the headroom, and it does not matter when finding a good viewing angle for great forward visibility (minus the very thick A pillar). The rear seats are perfectly trimmed for laptop bags or light shopping – human passengers do not have to be applied.

2018 Aston Martin DB11 Price and Relase Date

DB11 V8 will start from $ 198,995 on the U.S., a surprisingly thin discount above the $ 216,495 V12 price. But, of course, the cost of Kia Rio will not make a difference to buyers in this stratosphere. For me, this is a tidier handling of a low-powered car, much more than the price, which makes it a clear choice like the DB. I also like the clean look of a V8 ventilation hood, when compared to the four V12 velocity infidelity, but it’s definitely very personal.

The actual test of DB11, in that price range, would be faltering or flourishing versus a car aimed squarely at performance, such as the 911 Turbos and McLaren 570S ‘in the world. However, a competition of about $ 200k is staggering, and, really, no goats (or, G.O.A.T.) are among the group.
But for those who have been infected with the lust of Aston Martin, or collectors and connoisseurs of the brand, DB11 is as resplendent as the V8 engine that lives under its hood. Given his money, this is a ticket I’ll be happy to get from Hunter’s suggestion.
