Light facelift and updated powertrains carry a premium flare
Jeep will introduce the updated Cherokee 2019 at North American International Auto Showcome January 16, 2018. Medium-sized crossover receives a lightweight facelift with updated front and rear design, along with a more fuel-efficient powertrain option. Jeep did not explain in detail about the powertrain changes or other information, saying that the news will be available when the Cherokee 2019 performs at the Detroit Auto Show.
Aesthetically, the Jeep Cherokee 2019 looks much nicer, loses bad front ends and strange lighting arrangements. The new front uses a new one-piece headlights with turn signal and daytime running lights integrated into the same housing. Fog lamps now have slightly larger shells. The grille is now slimmer. Although it looks more handsome, the veil and upper grille seem unchanged. It seems that Cherokee’s ugliness is all contained in the headlamps.

2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overview
The Cherokee 2019 has a new LED back light with clear lenses and red accents
In the rear, the Cherokee 2019 has a new LED back light with clear lenses and red accents. The license board is moved from the bumper to the tailgate and the black-plastic bumper is replaced with an upscale black and gray bumper with chrome trim and dual chrome exhaust. The rest of Cherokee 2019 appears unchanged, though we expect a new wheel option.
As for the powertrain, Jeep does not give a hint about what’s under the hood. Cherokee currently offers a 2.4-liter MultiAir four-cylinder with 184 horsepower power as standard and a 3.2-liter V-6 with electric stop / start and 271 horsepower as an option. The nine speed automatic transmission is standard across the board. The front-wheel drive is also standard, but naturally, 4WD is optional on all models. Those who really want to explore an unaddressed path will reduce the Cherokee Trailhawk model with additional ground clearance, a beefier 4WD system, adding skid plating, and all-terrain tires.

As for what brings 2019, there is a good chance Cherokee will receive a new 2.0-liter turbocharged 2.0-liter Jeep engine found in 2018 Wrangler JL.
As for what brings 2019, there is a possibility the Cherokee will receive a new four liter turbocharged four liter cylinder found in 2018 Wrangler JL. The engine produces a very respectable 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque while saving fuel thanks to a lightweight hybrid system that uses an electric motor to help rotate the crankshaft at low engine speeds. This machine can replace the V-6 3.2 liter perfectly, whose torque reaches only 239 pound-feet.
Only time will tell, so luckily we only have a few weeks to wait. The 2019 Jeep Cherokee will make its official debut at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show on January 16th.
